Choosing the Correct Trolling Motor Shaft Length

Choosing the correct shaft length is important. If it's too short the prop won't be sufficiently submerged. We recommend submerging the centre of the motor section as least 30cm and at least 45cm if fishing in rough water. Also it is recommended that the propeller is submerged at least 30cm below the water line to avoid churning or agitation of the water surface.

The optimal operating mode is with the motor trimmed all the way down.
