GME AIS Man Overboard Beacon
The MO520 AIS MOB is a self-contained emergency beacon designed to be attached to life jackets or wet weather gear, which provides rapid distress alerting in a man overboard situation.
- The MO520 is compact and lightweight, offering a 5-year battery life with an integrated GPS receiver and IP68 Ingress Protection.
- The MO520 can be automatically or manually activated. Once activated, the MOB transmits an AIS message which contains the position of the device. When received, the AIS transmission is translated and displayed on a chart plotter, allowing potential rescuers to quickly and easily locate the beacon. This distress message is transmitted every 1 minute for a minimum period of 48 hours.
- The MO520 also features a high intensity LED light which flashes Morse Code “SOS” every 60 seconds.
Activation manually:
The MO520 can be activated manually or by water sensor. To activate the MO520 manually:
- Pull off the red tab antenna cap to release the antenna
- Pull off the activation tab to start transmission of messages
Activation using water sensor:
- Pull off the red tab antenna cap to release the antenna
- The water sensor is located at the bottom of the device. The device will activate & begin transmission when the sensor has been immersed in water for more than three seconds
