More About PVC
PVC is a lightweight fabric used in the manufacture of some inflatable boats. PVC fabric can be joined by welding while hypalon fabric must be glued, making PVC more suited to mass production at lower manufacturing costs.
Although offering better abrasion resistance, PVC is less resistant to prolonged exposure to chemicals & UV so larger RIBs, which are more likely to be kept outside and on moorings, are typically produced from other materials such as Hypalon.
